First Impression: Man From The Stars

Image

Title: Man From The Stars

Main Cast:

  • Gianna Jun as Cheon Song Yi
  • Kim Soo Hyun as Do Min Joon
  • Park Hae Jin as Lee Hui Kyung
  • Yoo In Na as Yoo Se Mi

My Thoughts:

Image

I don’t want to say this yet but my conscious will eat me away if I don’t say it: This drama is AMA*ZING* (just in case you’re wondering, *Zing* is stars in Cantonese so I’m trying to make reference to the title….no?…..nevermind:P) This show just cracks me up whenever I see Cheon Song Yi. She is awesome! She reminds me of Jang Hye Sung from I Can Hear Your Voice because of her indifferent character.

Image

My favourite scenes are all scenes with Cheon Song Yi in it~ Her SNS posts really hits the bull’s eye (of stupidity). Cheon Song Yi literally takes a crazy character to a whole new level! Her mistakes are cute though and even though she showed mostly her stupid/ carefree side, there are also the emotional side that she revealed. I am sorry but when Do Min Joon complained to her about her singing and when she exploded because she is not hearing shitz from others anymore, I laughed so hard when it was suppose to be a scene which is sad and shows Song Yi’s troubles. (Yes….I have a weird sense of humour:P)

Image

Another one of Song Yi’s troubles is her family problems. According to her, Song Yi’s mum dumped her Dad because he was broke so Song Yi doesn’t really have a good relationship with her mum. And we can actually tell that even though Song Yi’s brother ran away from home, he still cares for Song Yi since he beat up his friend who photoshoped Song Yi head onto a bikini body. It’s sweet and I’m pretty sure that Song Yi doesn’t know her brother’s love for her.

Image

I must mention Cheon Song Yi’s singing since it’s still stuck in my head. You know, even though Min Joon did say that she sang horribly and a lot of people agree, I am convinced that she can actually at least pass the first round of Kpop Star because I remember the judges saying that it is best to relax yourself and to give it all you’ve got than to be emotionless. What do you think?

Image

Oh~I almost forgot our alien Do Min Joon. I total love his character and his superpowers! I love when the scene freezes and he just walks through everything. It makes me wonder how the directors make those scenes. It’s really well done as well so I have nothing to complain about his superpowers.

Image

I watched Man From The Stars with my best friend and when Min Joon mentioned that he doesn’t eat dinner with others because he can’t mix fluid with others. My friend’s first reaction= “aww….he must be so lonely to eat alone!”, my first reaction= “awww….how is he going to kiss the main girl lead?”. Yeah~ that tells you so much about me:P

Image

Another problem with MIn Joon is when he showers! Honey, come here, let me tell you~ nobody showers with a freaking towel on! You’re really sexy though 😛 I guess I can’t blame him~ It’s not like he can look into another person’s apartment and see how they shower.

Image

I feel like that Do Min Joon is very cold towards others because he doesn’t want to get close to anyone since he is an alien and doesn’t age but I really wonder why he became friends with the lawyer then. I want to know what happened between them as well as what happened to Min Joon in the past with young Cheon Song Yi’s doppelganger. He did say that he couldn’t return to his Star because of a person’s death and I’m presuming it’s her.

Image

Do Min Joon is a mysterious character that I still can’t quite understand and I can’t until many of his past is revealed. He doesn’t seem to like Song Yi and it’s fresh because usually it’s the guy that gives a bad impression to the girl and not the opposite so I’m really excited for the next two episodes.

Image

Okay I have to mention both Se Mi and Hui Kyung here because I feel so sorry for them. Se Mi is just forever the supporting character and on top of that, her crush Hui Kyung doesn’t notice her at all because he is too busy swooning over Song Yi. But then I feel sorry for Hui Kyung as well because it happens to him as well with Song Yi and then his hyung is somewhat a murderer as well.

Image

I think this is the only drama besides Secret Garden that I like from the very first episode. I love the way it is really fun and crazy but it also does a good job balancing the serious part of the drama. I definitely think this drama is going to be success. It always keep me at the edge of my seat and by the end of the second episode it already has such a cliffhanger that I have to rewatch three times!

I can’t wait to see what happens next. What about you guys? I’m pretty sure that all of you like the drama so far so I don’t need to ask~ Anyway thank you for reading my blog and I hope you enjoy it^^

Anime Review: Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

Image

Title: Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge/ The Wallflower

My Rating: 9/10 Turtles

Synopsis:

After being called ugly and rejected by her first love, Sunako turns away from anything “beautiful”. She doesn’t dress up and has long bangs to cover her face. To help her niece, Sunako’s aunt decides to get her four handsome tenants to make Sunako into a lady.

My Thoughts:

The style of the anime drawings is very different to what I am used to and the lips of the male characters were really bugging me but I got used to it after a few episodes. Seriously though, the male characters really reminded me of my brother because of the thick lips that are on the guys. I cringed looking at that for the first time but I watched it because I saw lots of Top 10 anime lists and this anime is always on it.

This anime is one of the weirdest I’ve ever seen if not the weirdest. It is just unusual and the main female lead is not your typical anime character who is kind but has a major flaw e.g. clumsy or stupid. Sunako has a “dark” past which makes her who she is and she’s been living like that for ages until her aunt decides to help her to become a lady. Sunako is not someone that we can relate to that much (well at least me anyways) because she doesn’t open up herself that much. She wears bangs to cover her face and she locks herself into her own room to avoid contact with the “bright” outside world. I think this is why when someone finally reaches out to her (even though it was for the free rent) she was finally able to reveal her true self too.

I think the reason that Sunako can connect with Kyohei the best is because even though Kyohei is handsome, there are burdens he need to carry as well. I can’t imagine in real life a person that is so beautiful that he has to move out of his own house because his parents are sick of the girls that are gathering outside the house but it did in the anime so I can’t question it. I really like them as a couple and I think they really suit each other. They are so cute since they help each other to soothe the pain of their trauma and Sunako can finally be a lady because of Kyohei.

I love this anime because it is so different from the “normal” anime and it’s just full of randomness of a whole new level. I also like the horror element as well and “mabushi” will definitely become one of my everyday vocabulary from now on. Of course I will never forget our mannequin Hiroshi. How can anything get weirder than this? Did I mention that Sunako sleeps in a coffin? Yeah~ that’s definitely normal!

In short, this is a must-watch anime for anime fans. This is definitely for girls but my brother watched it as well so guys can watch it too. This anime can be bloody (from nosebleeds) so some of you watch out! It was so fun to watch this anime so I’m sure you will feel the same.

What do you guys like about this anime? Tell me in the comment section^^ Sorry guys for not being active for so long>< I was really busy studying for my Christmas exam and then there’s Christmas~ but now I’m free!!! I missed merry christmas but I hope you enjoy Christmas! Thank you for reading my post and I hope you enjoy it:D

My Opinion on Empress Ki Episode 7 and 8~

Image

Title: Empress Ki

Main Cast:

  • Ha Ji Won as Ki Seung Nyang
  • Joo Jin Mo as Wang Yoo
  • Ji Chang Wook as Ta Hwan
  • Baek Jin Hee as Tanasili
  • Kim Jung Hyun as Dan Ki Se
  • Cha Do Jin as Top Ja Hae
  • Kim Young Ho as Baek Ahn
  • Choi Moo Sung as Park Bool Hwa
  • Lee Moon Sik as Bang Shin Woo
  • Lee Jae Yong as Wang Go

My Thoughts:

Image

Oh Lord~ This episode starts with such intensity! Seung Nyang gets caught disguising as a girl but perverted Ki Se seems to fancy her and gets her to be brought to his room dressed up as a women. I love how he is in awe looking at how beautiful Seung Nyang is as a girl and that he has to get Byung Soo to snap him out of it. Lolz.

Image

Byung Soo’s jealousy plays a big part at the start as he reveals to Yoo Seung Nyang’s secret and therefore, she is saved from being raped. Seriously, I was screaming at my screen because clearly Seung Nyang is strong and warrior-like. There’s no way she can’t Ki Se. But I suppose the rescuing of the damsel in distress is quite sweet if he actually manages to escape and libve with her happily ever after:/…hmph..I’m grumpy:( I think I already ship them too hard. How will I be able to survive the remaining forty-something episodes! T^T

Image

I knew from the very start that I’m going to hate Tanashiri! She is just so spoiled and self-centred and every other wicked description you can think of. In all fairness, she is pretty and lovable if she shuts that mouth of hers. I don’t see how some people can say those things without cringing themselves! Erk!!

Image

I have a feeling that Ki Se has real feelings for Seung Nyang ( I mean who wouldn’t!). He pretends that he doesn’t care for her but he secretly steals glances at her when she is having trouble walking the long way. Forgetting the fact that he tried to rape her, I respect him for giving Seung Nyang a choice to stay in the palace as maid or to be his concubine.

Image

When Seung Nyang is finally in palace and is bullied by the head girl and her gang. I thought she is going to keep quiet about but she doesn’t and kicks their asses. I’m relieved that she has some kind of friends at least because I’ve seen too much ancient dramas and I know what it’s like in one.

Image

Yoo is sent to the borders and God helps him because he has to fight to Turks with such feeble men and sh!t weapons. Mussolini had better weapons than him in World War II! But since Yoo excelled in fighting and war, he manages to survive but seeing his own people die in front of him causes him a mental breakdown.

Image

Mean while Seung Nyang is plotting her revenge of she keeps on missing her chances. Even though I don’t like Ta Hwan and want him dead, I don’t think it’s a good idea for Seung Nyang to kill him. She will never get away with it with all those palace guards and everything else. On top of that, she has promised Yoo to survive and meet each other. I hope she doesn’t get anymore reckless. Seung Nyang gets caught hiding a knife but she manages to get away with it saying that she wants to protect herself against Ki Se.

Image

Ta Hwan has his first night with Tanashiri and it’s hilarious. Tanashiri is all “I’m ready” in bed but Ta Hwan just wants more drink and they end the night without getting anything done. I love how Tanashiri sulks at the unexpected outcome.

Image

So far I’m liking this more and more but the cliffhangers kill me!! This week they end with Ta Hwan running into Seung Nyang and seeing her face for the first time after he is back at Yuan. I’m really curious as to how Seung Nyang is going to explain this or what she is going to do if Ta Hwan recognises her.

What about you guys? Do you think that this drama is getting better and better? I know I’m a bit behind but sure it’s nearly Christmas break so I’ll definitely manage to get it done by then~ Hope you enjoy this and thanks for reading^^

First Impression of Bounty Lady (Episode 1 and 2)

Image

Title: Bounty Lady

Main Cast:

*since I can’t really find their character names in english, I’m just going to use their real name~*

  • Kate Tsui
  • Dayo Wong
  • Sharon Chan
  • Louis Yuen
  • Benz Hui
  • Elena Kong
  • Toby Leung
  • Jazz Lam
  • Samantha Ko
  • Grace Wong
  • Sammy Shum
  •  Tracy Ip

Synopsis:

I can’t really find any information in English so I’m writing this from what I’ve watched so far.

So basically Kate Tsui had a one-night stand with Dayo Wong. Everything’s cool until Kate finds out that Dayo Wong is a worker in the new company she is working in and more than that, Dayo is her superior. Dayo is a creative director but he only does what he likes. His secret is that he helps what Hong Kong people “sing lui”(women in their 30’s that haven’t had any relationship because they are so busy with work) to find true love.

My Thoughts:

This drama is definitely made to be a comedy, especially with Dayo Wong since I kinda consider him as the Hong Kong Mr.Bean. I know it is kinda rude but I can’t help but laugh every time I see him. This drama is a must-watch! I’m glad that this airs now because with Triumph In The Skies 2 and other dramas which are complicated and tragic, I certainly needed something fun to watch to lighten my mood.

Kate is stunning in this drama. I never really thought that she would be able to carry out the role that well since it is her first time doing this sort of comedy. I guess I worried for nothing and she is still my favourite TVB actress. I can’t wait to see how her character develops since right now she seems like a real snob.

The episodes are so far so good and I have nothing to complain about…..yet. Dayo has a dark past, like most most main characters and I can’t wait to find out what happen and how Kate will manage to unlock his sadness that he has hidden deep inside his heart. So far Dayo is the genuine good character….wait…..and Sharon as well but we’ll definitely catch more of what’s going on.

Lots of scenes in this drama is super exaggerated but sure I’ll let that go because this is no doubt a comedy. I swear though……some exaggerated korean dramas that are not comedies makes me cringe! This is reasonable and the actors did a good job portraying it.

This drama really reminds me of Cyrano Dating Agency except in this drama they are not getting paid for matching couples. I don’t see a HUGE dilemma coming but rather I think the main plot in this drama is just helping couples and connecting the love lines between the leads. I hope they have something more than that though. Even if there isn’t, this is still very fun to watch.

So this is what I think of the drama. I love it but I don’t really have that much to talk about. Anyways I hope you enjoy this drama if you are watching this drama and thanks for reading my post^^
